Railറെയില്‍

It is estimated that Valluvanad has 167 kilometres of railway lines. All Railway lines that pass through Valluvanad are Broad Guage and comes under Palakkad Division. The area has only 36 kilometres of Electrified Tracks running from Shornur Junction to Mankara Railway Station. Shornur - Palakkad and Shornur - Thrissur Railway lines are electrified and double, Shornur - Nilambur is single, and Shornur - Kozhikode Railway line is under the process of doubling, which is expected to be complete within some months (The delay is in the construction of Shornur - Nedungottur Railway Overbridge). The most important Railway Station of the area is Shornur, which is a Junction of 4 routes - Palakkad, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Nilambur.

വള്ളുവനാട്ടിലൂടെ 167 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ റെയില്‍പാത ഉണ്ടെന്നാണ് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. വള്ളുവനാട്ടിലൂടെ കടന്ന് പോകുന്ന റെയില്‍പാതകള്‍ എല്ലാം ബ്രോഡ് ഗേജും പാലക്കാട് ഡിവിഷന്റെ കീഴില്‍ ഉള്ളതും ആണ്. ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ മുതല്‍ മങ്കര റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റേഷന്‍ വരേയുള്ള 36 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ മാത്രമേ വൈദ്യുതീകരിച്ച റെയില്‍പ്പാതയുള്ളു. ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ - പാലക്കാട് പാതയും ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ - തൃശ്ശൂര്‍ പാതയും വൈദ്യുതീകരിച്ച രണ്ട് വരി ഗതാഗത റെയില്‍പാതയാണ്. ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ - നിലമ്പൂര്‍ പാത ഒറ്റവരിയും വൈദ്യുതീകരിക്കാത്തതും ആണ്. ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ - കോഴിക്കോട് റെയില്‍പാത ഇരട്ടിപ്പിക്കല്‍ നടന്ന് കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഏതാനും മാസങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍ ഇത് പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകും എന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. (ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ - നെടുങ്ങോട്ടൂര്‍ റെയില്‍വേ മേല്‍പ്പാലനിര്‍മ്മാണം സാങ്കേതിക കുരുക്കില്‍ പെട്ട് കിടക്കുകയാണെന്നാണ് അറിയാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. അത് പൂര്‍ത്തി ആയാല്‍ ഉടന്‍ ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ - കോഴിക്കോട് പാത ഇരട്ടിപ്പിക്കല്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകും. പട്ടാമ്പി - കോഴിക്കോട് റെയില്‍പാത നിലവില്‍ രണ്ട് വരിയാണ്). വള്ളുവനാട്ടിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റേഷന്‍ ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ ജങ്ക്ഷന്‍ ആണ്. 4 ദിക്കിലേക്കുള്ള പാതകള്‍ കൂടിച്ചേരുന്നതാണ് ഷൊര്‍ണ്ണൂര്‍ ജങ്ക്ഷന്‍ - പാലക്കാട്, കോഴിക്കോട്, തൃശ്ശൂര്‍, നിലമ്പൂര്‍.

Roadറോഡ്

As Valluvanad spans over a part of Palakkad District and a part of Malappuram District, the actual length of Roads passing through the area is unknown. However, it is estimated that the area is networked with more than 2000 kilometres of roads including 234 Kilometres of National Highway. Kochi - Mangalapuram NH-17 and Palakkad - Mannarkkad - Perinthalmanna NH-213 are the two National Highways that pass through the area. Ponnani, Kuttippuram and Valaanchery are the important towns through which National Highway 17 passes. Important State Highways passing through the area are:

പാലക്കാട്, മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലകളില്‍ ആയി കിടക്കുന്നതിനാല്‍ വള്ളുവനാട്ടിലൂടെ കടന്ന് പോകുന്ന റോഡിന്റെ ദൂരം കൃത്യമായി ലഭ്യമല്ല. എങ്കിലും, 234 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദേശീയപാതയടക്കം 2000 കിലോമീറ്ററില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ റോഡ് ഈ പ്രദേശത് കൂടെ കടന്ന് പോകുന്നുണ്ട് എന്ന് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. കൊച്ചി - മംഗലാപുരം NH17, പാലക്കാട് - മണ്ണാര്‍ക്കാട് - പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണ - കോഴിക്കോട് NH213 എന്നിവയാണ് ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് കൂടി കടന്ന് പോകുന്ന രണ്ട് പ്രധാന ദേശീയ പാതകള്‍. പൊന്നാനി, കുറ്റിപ്പുറം, വളാഞ്ചേരി തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് NH17 കടന്ന് പോകുന്ന പാതയിലെ പ്രധാന സ്ഥലങ്ങള്‍. ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് കൂടെ കടന്ന് പോകുന്ന പ്രധാന സംസ്ഥാന പാതകള്‍ ഇവയാണ്:

The State Highways from Kuttipuram to Thrissur, and Palakkad to Kulappully are under development as part of the Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP - IV), financed by the Asian Development Bank. However, the Malaysian company (RBM - Road Builders Malaysia) that took up the project at first had to stop the work abruptly due to political ego-clash between the old Government that sanctioned the work and the new Government. After lots of strikes and complaints, another company named "Roman Tarmat" took up the work, but the work was re-tendered soon to another company named Ernad Constructions. Almost all works on the road are completed, but we cannot see any new progress on drainage, lighting, signal boards and bus bays, though the Kerala PWD Website boasts that over 90% of the work is complete.

കുറ്റിപ്പുറം മുതല്‍ ചൂണ്ടല്‍ വരേയും പാലക്കാട് മുതല്‍ കുളപ്പുള്ളി വരേയും ഉള്ള സംസ്ഥാന പാതകള്‍ ഏഷ്യന്‍ ഡവലപ്മെന്റ് ബാങ്കിന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെയുള്ള കേരള സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ട്രാന്‍സ്പോര്‍ട്ട് പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് (KSTP - IV) എന്ന പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി റബ്ബറൈസ് ചെയ്ത് പുനര്‍-നിര്‍മ്മിക്കാന്‍ കരാര്‍ ആയതാണ്. എങ്കിലും, ആദ്യം കരാര്‍ ഏറ്റെടുത്ത മലേഷ്യന്‍ കമ്പനി ആയ റോഡ് ബില്‍ഡേഴ്സ് മലേഷ്യയ്ക്ക് (RBM), പണിയ്ക്ക് കരാര്‍ നല്‍കിയ സര്‍ക്കാറിന്റേയും മാറിവന്ന പുതിയ സര്‍ക്കാറിന്റേയും ഇടയിലുള്ള അഹംഭാവത്തിനും അഴിമതിയ്ക്കും ഇടയില്‍ പണി നിര്‍ത്തിപ്പോകേണ്ടി വന്നു. കുറേ സമരങ്ങള്‍ക്കും പരാതികള്‍ക്കും ഒടുവില്‍ "റൊമന്‍ ടാര്‍മാറ്റ്" എന്ന കമ്പനി പണി പുനരാരംഭിയ്ക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും ഏര്‍നാട് കണ്‍സ്ട്രക്ഷന്‍സ് എന്ന പുതിയ ഒരു കമ്പനിയ്ക്ക് കരാര്‍ വീണ്ടും നല്‍കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ റോഡിന്റെ പണി ഏറെക്കുറേ അവസാനിച്ചെങ്കിലും, കേരള പൊതുമരാമത്ത് വകുപ്പിന്റെ വെബ്സൈറ്റില്‍ പണി 90 ശതമാനം പൂര്‍ത്തിയായി എന്ന് പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ അഴുക്ക്ചാല്‍ നിര്‍മ്മാണം, വഴിവിളക്ക്, സൂചനാ ബോര്‍ഡുകള്‍, ബസ് ബേകള്‍, തുടങ്ങിയ പണികള്‍ ഒന്നും നടക്കുന്നതായി കാണുന്നില്ല.
