11 years of constructing Bus Stand

The Ottapalam Private Bus Stand has crossed 10 years since its construction was started. Though the people of Ottapalam have previous experience of construction of Mayannur Bridge for 10 years, a job which is only 10 percentage of the former job is lagging since years. The delay in construction of bus stand is irritating both the Bus Operators and the passengers alike. The estimate for construction was revised twice, and a recent loan has been approved, which too brings no result.

KINFRA Integrated Industrial Park, Lakkidi

KINFRA Integrated Industrial Park and the Foundation Stone for the proposed Defence Park inaugurated. A Readymade Textile Manufacturing Factory will start functioning in the park, which is expected to provide direct employment to at least 1500 workers. Defence park will have modern common infrastructure facilities aimed at attracting component manufacturers in the defence industry. The Park is located near Lakkidi Koottupatha, where Thiruvilwamala road joins the Palakkad - Ponnani State Highway.

Stray Dog Menace continues

Even after protests from the public, Ottapalam Municipality is yet to take any action against the alarming number of stray dogs that wander in and around the town. As there are no public wastebins in the town, people throw the wastes on to the roadside, which attracts the stray dogs. Walkers and bikers have to be wary of stray dogs when they set out early in the morning when the roads are almost vacant.
